Permit Application
Types of Permits Available
The Powell Police Department processes permits for the following public events and activities:

Parade Permit – PO.5.12.030

Public Dance Permit – PO.5.40.010

Noise Variance Permit – PO.9.12.080

Entertainment Permit – PO.5.20.010

Road Closures / Reserved Parking – PO.12.28.010
Must notify the Powell Streets Department for barrel setup at (307) 754-9513.

In addition, the Powell Police Department has a process for an Organized Event Notification. While this is not required as permits are, it allows the Powell Police Department to be aware of events in our community, so we can provide services that will enhance the general safety of the event. An example of when this form may be used would be an event such as an organized marathon.

How to Apply

Include any required maps or event route plans.

Submit your application to the Powell Police Department.

Pay any applicable fees at the time of submission.

Permit Fees

Parade: $15
-
Public Dance or Entertainment Permit: $10

Late Fee (for Dance or Entertainment permits submitted less than 14 days before event): $120

Additional Information
-
Applications should be submitted well in advance of the event date.

Permits are a privilege and may be revoked if the event causes a disturbance.

The Chief of Police or a designee must approve all permits.
​
