On September 7th, 2021, Officers Kevin Bennett and Ryan Davis were recognized with the Powell Police Department Lifesaving Award for their actions on August 15th, 2021 at the Powell City Council Meeting.

On 08/15/2021, shortly after 4:00 AM, Officers Bennett and Davis responded to a report of a twenty-nine-year-old female experiencing an overdose. While on scene, Officers determined that the female had ingested an unknown amount of fentanyl which, according to paramedics, rendered her clinically deceased. Officers administered a single dose of Narcan, which revived the female's pulse. Officers administered a second dose of Narcan, at which point the female began to breathe again on her own.

A paramedic on the responding ambulance provided the following statement regarding the actions of Officers Bennett and Davis: "Because of the rapid response, quick thinking, appropriate medical care, and dedication to the residents of this community this young woman is alive today thanks to Officers Bennett and Davis. I believe that if these Officers had not performed in the manner which they did, that this patient would have most likely expired."

Congratulations to Officers Bennett and Davis for your dedication to the community that we serve!
