Car Windows

Between February 20th and March 7th we had about 20 cases of vehicle windows being shot out throughout the city.  These occurred mostly during the afternoon, but some occurred later in the evening.  There was no geographical pattern to the vandalism.  The only witness reported seeing a 1990’s style American made car, that was silver or gray in color, possibly with faded or peeling paint, pull up next to a parked car, and a male passenger held out a bb/ pellet type gun and shot at the parked cars window.  There were no cases reported since early March.  On June 18th we had three more reports of car windows being shot out that occurred between 9:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m.  Anyone with information about these crimes is urged to call the Powell Police Department at 754-2212, or if you wish to remain anonymous you can call the Crime Tips Line: (307) 764-TIPS (8477).  Remember to report suspicious activity if you see it, the monetary damages in these cases amount to several thousand dollars.
